How I got to where I am Today
Just like all of you, I question how I got to where I am today.
I never would have thought that I would be in the position that I am right now, which is living in Guatemala. But with faith, prayer, and trust, here I am.
Background Information
After my family and I returned home from Guatemala in 2018, I knew I wanted to return automatically. It was just something about Guatemala that was special and to this day I cannot exactly explain it.
I’ll be honest here.
In 2018, I automatically knew what my passion was for my life. But I couldn’t tell people because they might have thought it was ridiculous! I was only 20-years-old at the time!
And so, I continued with my education to be able to receive a “big girl” job. Because that is what we do.
But I did not feel fulfilled in my potential career. For me, it was just something to say that I did because it was the “norm”.
And that’s why after graduating, failing my exam, and continuing my travel to Guatemala was important.
So, looking back now, I can say that I did try to fulfill that plan that was not even meant for me.
Romans 8:28- And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Daily Life
People often ask what I do living in Guatemala and for work with Sin Limites.
I am the program coordinator and at the moment, I wear a few other hats as well!
I travel to the village about five times weekly on my motorcycle. And it is probably best if I don’t share the mph I’ve seen or what I’ve done on the bike 😀
But my schedule varies daily because anything can change in an instant. For me that is hard! Because I like being organized, but I am continuing to learn and adjust.
And there is one thing that remains consistent, which is my exercise! It is either going to the gym or running outside. That keeps me sane, hahaha!
I also try to spend time with my friends during the week! Because if I’m having a stressful day, they are there for me. It could either be going for ice cream or a walk around Antigua.
It’s simple, but it’s really good for my soul!
In my next blog post, I will discuss how I feel moving away from home.
XOXO,
Madison Archer
