If you have read the previous blogs, I want to say thank you. Honestly, my intention was to only write two new blogs, not four… But you never know what God has in store.
As I mentioned earlier, I felt God was calling me to start a new nonprofit organization and stay in Guatemala. I wanted to do everything correct and the legal way. My mom graciously offered her time to search for attorneys in North Carolina who specialized in nonprofit organizations. But it was extremely difficult for her to find one, and it began to become a major stressor.
I didn’t want that for her, and after one phone call, I knew it was time for me to book a trip home. Not only to help her, but also to show everyone how interested I was and how strong my desire was to start a new nonprofit organization.
My Time Home

When I arrived home, I knew it was time to get to work and treat it more like a business trip. I didn’t tell many people that I was traveling home because I didn’t want to be distracted. There was only one goal, which was to get the process started for the nonprofit organization.
I knew that if I could speak with banks that support 501(c)(3) organizations, meet with someone who runs an accounting business, and consult with an attorney, I would consider my trip home a success. And thankfully, I was able to accomplish each of these things.
But God also had something bigger in store for me while I was home, something I didn’t yet know. Remember when I said earlier that God is teaching me the importance of obedience… And how hard it can be sometimes, but how necessary it is to listen to Him?
Well, let me share another story of how saying “Yes, I’ll do it” not only changed my life, but also the lives of others.
Being Obedient
Since I was home for nine days, I was able to attend my home church, First Christian Church, on Sunday, November 2nd. It’s always wonderful to see everyone, especially because most of the congregation has watched me grow up. I am truly thankful for everyone who attends FCC.
A few days before Sunday, I felt God say, “You need to get up and share at your church what is going on.” Of course, I tried to bargain with Him and make excuses of why it wasn’t necessary, but it stayed in the back of my mind.
When I arrived at church that Sunday, people greeted me and said, “I didn’t know you were coming home.” I responded, “It was an unexpected visit” and then explained what was going on. Many people said that they would pray for me.
Well throughout the service, I was starting to think about what God told me to do. In my head, I thought, “Okay, I will share with the congregation what is going on and ask for prayer requests as I move forward.” Then I was thinking, “Nahhh, it’s not necessary. You don’t even have a PowerPoint to share, and nobody is expecting you to share anyways…” It was a real struggle and I didn’t know what to do.
But then I received my answer… It was on the PowerPoint slide, and the Bible verse that was displayed on the screen was Proverbs 3:5-6.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Right then and there, I knew I had to be obedient to what God had told me- share with others what was going on, and by the way, that has been “my” verse for 2025.
I stepped out of my comfort zone and shared what was happening. I was nervous, but I spoke sincerely, from the bottom of my heart… And I hope others could see the reasons why I wanted to start a new nonprofit organization.

In Conclusion
Throughout the last few months, I’ve learned many things.
I’ve learned the importance of being obedient and saying “Yes” to the Lord, even when it doesn’t make sense or when you’re afraid. I heard a quote from preacher and author, Brenda Palmer, that really stuck with me: “Your next decision (or yes) can help lead to someone’s salvation.” That quote will continue to have a major impact on my life as I move forward.
I’ve also learned that when you are obedient, lives can change because of your, “Yes.” By sharing at church what was going on, it touched more people than I ever imagined. I just wanted to be obedient to the Lord and hoped that people could see the faith I had to move forward.
If you made it this far, thank you for reading these blogs. I hope they inspire others to grow in their faith and say, “Yes” to the decision that could change their life. I give God all of the glory.
Romans 11:36- “For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.”
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support! There will be more updates to come in the future!
P.S- The founders of Sin Limites are looking to slowly phase out of their involvement with the ministry. They are very supportive of my decision and have agreed to keep Sin Limites running until my new nonprofit organization is fully set up. I’m grateful for the opportunity I have had to volunteer and work with them as their program coordinator.
